Boots - Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Night Treatment Gel

Just like everyone I am partial to the odd breakout. Why is it that they always appear at the worst times? Before a presentation at work, date night or an official photograph - argh! Having finally grown out of the habit of picking my spots (I know, stupid move) I'm always on the lookout for a quick fix.

I've tried blemish sticks and roll ons like the tea tree blemish stick from The Body Shop and the tea tree spot stick from Superdrug but I found that neither did the trick of calming the redness or size of my spots as quickly as I would like. So when I saw Boots did a Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Night Gel (£2.99 for 75 ml) I thought, what have I got to lose?

I've never used a night gel before and considering everything else sort of failed I didn't have high hopes. Soon enough I had a spot appear on my cheek and that night I went through my cleansing routine before applying the gel. It does have a slightly sticky consistency and strong scent but nothing that I found uncomfortable to use. A small amount of gel is enough to cover your entire face however it doesn't sink in straight away and so your left with a thin sticky film over your face for around ten minutes which did;t bother me as much as I expected.

When I woke up the next morning I was surprised to see that the blemish had definitely shrunk in size to the point it wasn't really visible. I've tried this a few times and still can't believe how effective this gel is each time.

I'm now using this three times a week as its also billed as helping to prevent spots and would certainly recommend it to anyone else.

Do you have any top spot fighting products?
